While we definitely don’t condone inhaling and exhaling everything, looking at you Wuhan Institute of Virology scientists, nothing makes inhaling India levels of air quality better than a quality surplus gas mask. And nobody does quality gear better than Schwarzenegger's homeland, Austria.
The M65A2 may look pretty similar for our more seasoned gasmask connoisseurs, with its striking triangle lenses, front mounted filter and 40mm NATO filter. The Austrians and Germans have always been close, especially from 1938-1945…, and this gasmask is no different with only a few subtle changes compared to their German brethren. The main difference being the canteen adapter, which is similar to conventional NATO types compared to the German M65A1 long drinking straw style.
However the mask is surprisingly modern compared to some of our more eastern counterparts. Manufactured by Draeger since 1965 up until the late 1990s, these masks feature a 3mm exterior rubber seal for an airtight fit and a modern head strap system that is easy to adjust unlike the infamous GP5. These masks are only recommended for display and larping. Or with the right filter, maybe a little chemical and dust exposure as a treat.
